Questions you may have…
-
Leader Badges are digital badges distributed by Certifier that credential students for completing a set of tasks and requirements. These badges include data on skills learned and are visible on the recipients’ LinkedIn page when accepted.
The badges are ranked; Platinum is the most rigorous, Gold is a step down, and Bronze is the last rank. Any member can apply as long as they complete the requirements.
-
It will take varying lengths to earn badges, based on the tasks you complete and the rank you are aiming to receive. After you have completed badge tasks and submitted your application, the F4F team will review your application and reward your badge within one week.
-
We have a list of tasks to choose from, and a certain amount depending on the badge rank. If you have questions about whether something qualifies or trouble completing a task, don’t hesitate to reach out to admin@families4familiesdmv.org.
-
Yes! We will award badges for tasks completed in the past. Just submit your application as normal and include the dates that your activities were completed.

No, badges are entirely free. Families4Families will never ask a student to provide any form of payment to receive a badge.
Certifier is set up so that recipients don’t need to sign in to accept badges. This is also a free credential.
-
We automate badges to be sent via email, which provides instructions on how to accept the badge and link it on your LinkedIn profile. More information will be in the Badge Resources above.
-
No, the badge can be linked anywhere digital credentials can be linked. We encourage you to list this as an achievement on your resume!

The F4F Leader Badges are based on the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ Career Readiness Framework, which defines key professional competencies essential for career development. The main goal for the F4FLB initiative is to prepare students for professional networking, skill showcasing, and resume building.
